<div>Cherokee County’s faith communities will celebrate Christmas and New Year’s holidays with special services:</div><div> </div><div><strong>TUESDAY/DEC 24</strong></div><div>• First United Methodist Church of Rusk will host a 3 p.m. Christmas Eve candlelight worship service and Holy Communion at 255 S. Henderson Street.</div><div>• Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church will celebrate three Christmas Eve liturgies at the 760 S. Main St. church in Rusk. Vigil Masses begin at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. in English, followed by a bilingual midnight Mass.<br>• At 5:30 p.m., St. John’s Methodist Church will celebrate Christmas Eve Holy Eucharist at 2020 Beaumont St. in Jacksonville. </div><div>• Central Baptist Church hosts a special candlelight service, 6 p.m. Christmas Eve at the 1909 E. Rusk St. in Jacksonville.</div><div>• First Methodist Church – Jacksonville will host a 6 p.m. Christmas Eve service at 1031 SE Loop 456.</div><div>• Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church will celebrate a 7 p.m. English vigil Mass, with a bilingual midnight liturgy at the 1023 Corinth St. church. </div><div>• In Palestine, Bethlehem Lutheran Church will celebrate a 7 p.m. candlelight service, 1515 S. Loop 256 </div><div>• In New Summerfield, a 9 p.m. Spanish vigil Mass will be celebrated Christmas Eve at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 304 FM 235 East. </div><div>• A. Frank Methodist Church is inviting everyone to join them for a Christmas Eve Candlelight service at 5 pm. The church is at 131 Cooper Street in Alto.</div><div>• St. Matthew United Methodist Church will hold 2 Christmas Eve services in Jacksonville. At 4 p.m. the service will be at the new location 201 S. Bonner Street. At 11:30 p.m. the candlelight service will be at Teaberry Chapel, 2525 O’Keefe Road.</div><div><strong> </strong></div><div><strong>WEDNESDAY/DEC. 25 </strong></div><div>Christmas services in Cherokee County include those celebrated at:</div><div>• New Summerfield, 8 a.m. Spanish Mass, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church</div><div>• Jacksonville, 9 a.m. (English), noon Spanish Masses, Our Lady of Sorrows Church</div><div>• Rusk, 9:30 a.m. English Mass, Sacred Heart of Jesus Church</div><div>• Alto, 11 a.m. Spanish Mass, Venerable Antonio Margil Church, 181 Main St </div><div> </div><div><strong>WEDNESDAY-THURSDAY/DEC. 31-JAN. 1</strong></div><div>• Vigil Masses will be held New Year’s Eve at Rusk’s Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 4 p.m. (English) and 7 p.m. Spanish. On Jan. 1, an English Mass begins at 8 a.m.</div><div>• In Alto, a 5:30 p.m. Spanish vigil Mass will be celebrated Dec. 31 at Venerable Antonio Margil Church; there are no New Year’s Day liturgies scheduled at the Alto church.</div><div>• New Summerfield’s Our Lady of Guadalupe Church will celebrate a 9 p.m. Spanish vigil Mass on Dec. 31; a New Year’s Day Spanish liturgy begins at 10 a.m.</div><div>• Our Lady of Sorrows in Jacksonville will celebrate a 5:30 p.m. English vigil Mass on New Year’s Eve, with two liturgies set for Jan. 1 – at 9 a.m. in English and noon Spanish.</div>
